5th Annual Health Foundations Regatta a Huge Success with over $38,000 in proceeds!!
The 5th Annual Health Foundations Regatta was a great success - thanks to all participants and sponsors. A joint effort between the Central Northeast Health Foundation and the South and Central Health Foundation, the Regatta has grown in popularity. Since its inception in 2007 this event has raised nearly $168,000 for healthcare needs throughout Central Newfoundland.
This past year the event was held on July 8th and 9th at the Lewisporte Yacht Club. Our new 'Saltwater Cowboys' themed event was a definite crowd pleaser. Throughout the weekend participants engaged in various activities such as a costume dance, obstacle course, barbecue dinner, best decorated boat competition, and scavenger hunt for the kids.
Thanks to everyone who participated in such a fun and worthwhile event. In the end over $38,000 net proceeds were raised to purchase bariatric equipment for the Central Health region.
We are already preparing for the 6th Annual Health Foundations Regatta, to take place July 13-14, 2012, and it'll be bigger and better than ever. Our theme once again will be "Saltwater Cowboys" and returning will be a lot of your old favorites including the Saltwater Saloon.
